2020 Unity in the Community - Winter Essentials & Christmas Toy Giveaway

In person donation acceptance starts Monday, November 30th – Wednesday, December 16th at Maywood Park District 10am – 3pm. We are looking for Toys (Toddler to Teenager), Coats, Gloves, Scarfs, Boots, and Blankets. If you would like to receive a Toy Drive Box for donations, please let us know. We understand that community support is critical to the success of our endeavors. As a highly respected community advocate, we know that your organization possesses the leadership, resources, and initiative to help continue to push the Foundation forward. There are many ways to support with your time, talent, and treasure.

Your contributions are tax deductible! Please make all financial donations payable to School District 89 Education Foundation. Checks can be mailed to 906 Walton St. Melrose Park, IL 60160. Where can I drop off winter essentials and toys?

  • In person donation acceptance starts Monday, November 30th – Wednesday, December 16th at Maywood Park District (921 9th Ave., Maywood IL, 60153) 10am – 3pm.

Where can I mail financial contributions?

  • Please make all financial donations payable to School District 89 Education Foundation. Checks can be mailed to 906 Walton St. Melrose Park, IL 60160

How will the winter essentials and toys be provided to those in need?

  • In partnership with families in need contacts from Maywood Park District and School District 89, we will have a registration process to assess the needs.

How will all the toys and winter essentials be separated and prepared for the families?

  • All items will be separated and prepared in the Maywood Park District gym.

What will the event on December 19, 2020 at the Maywood Park District look like?

  • The items will have been prepared for families to drive up, check in, and have their items placed in their vehicles. Families will not need to get out of their cars.

Will volunteers have PPE provided?

  • Yes! Temperature checks, hand sanitizer, face mask, and all social distancing compliance will be adhered to.
